Coaches play an integral role in the development of athletes along their pathway to success. Curlzone employs certified coaches, utilizing empirically derived sport sciences techniques and technologies towards skill acquisition and competency-based desired outcomes. All Curlzone coaches have followed or received careful mentorship support and continuous coach development programming to maintain the highest of standards and performance benchmarks.

Curlzone also offers both paid and unpaid internships for those coaches wishing to pursue a professional career in coaching. All internships strickly follow the approved and sanctioned Sports Canada Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD), as well as the National Coach Certification Program (NCCP) Models. The accredited college or university curriculum and evaluation protocols shall also be applied where applicable.

 

Unpaid Internship Criteria: 

  • Training follows the curriculum and evaluation protocols offered by your accredited vocational institution. 
  • Accumulation of academic credit goes towards fulfilling the requirements of a diploma or degree.
  • Training is for the benefit of the intern to develop their skills and knowledge
  • Curlzone receives little or no benefits from the institution and/or intern while they are being trained
  • The intern does not replace or occupy another employee’s position
  • There is no promise of employment at the end of the training period
  • The intern is advised that they will not be paid for their time spent in training

 

 

Paid Internship Criteria:

  • Training follows the curriculum and evaluation protocols offered by Curlzone Inc. & NCCP 
  • Accumulation of academic credits may go towards fulfilling the requirements of a diploma or degree
  • Training is for the mutual benefit of the intern & employer to develop their skills and knowledge
  • Curlzone receives benefits from the institution and/or intern while they are being trained
  • The intern may temporarily or permanently replace or occupy another employee’s position
  • An employment opportunity may exist at the end of the successful training period 
  • The intern is advised of conditions that they will be paid for their time spent in training
  • Appropriate parties shall/may be liable for wages, statutory deductions, tax withholdings, and payments for workers compensation premiums and employer health tax.
